Please   read   the   following   text   thoroughly,   our   company   cannot   be   held   responsible   if   clients are   not   aware   and   understood   our booking   conditions.

 


Terms and conditions-Rental policy

Renter's qualification

To rent a car from OKay rent a car in Crete, the renter must:

·         Be over 23* years of age to qualify for the groups basic and economy groups  and have a valid driving license issued at least one year ago. For all other car groups, the renter must be over 25 years old and have a valid driving license issued at least 3 years ago.

·         Have a valid Greek, European (for E.U. countries) or International (for countries that don't belong to E.U.) driving license.

 

Minimum rental

One day. After the 25th rental hour, an additional day will be charged.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Outside the normal opening hours, depositing the keys and documents in a letter box does not constitute the end of the rental. You remain liable for any damages until an Okay  employee takes possession of the Vehicle, documents and keys.

Rental extention

If the renter wants to keep the vehicle longer than the contracted period, he will have to contact the Okay rent a car in Crete  location from which he picked up the car in order to extend his Rental Agreement.

Condition of the Vehicle.

A description of the condition of the Vehicle will be given to you at the same time as the rental agreement.

Before leaving the rental location, you are required to check the condition of the Vehicle. Where an apparent defect is found which is not already listed in the document, you must immediately inform the Okay  rent a car in Crete employee at the counter in order to proceed with a joint-examination of the Vehicle.In such a case, amendments must be made to the document and duly countersigned by both parties.If the amended document is not countersigned by both parties, the condition of the Vehicle will be as set out in the document given to you with the rental agreement and it will be considered that you received the Vehicle in proper working condition.You will return the Vehicle in the same condition as it was provided at the start of the rental.

 Use of the Vehicle

The Vehicle must not be driven by anyone other than you and then only under the condition that your ability to drive is not in any way impaired by mental or physical incapacity or restricted by the Law. You must take care of the Vehicle, keep it in good repair and condition, pay any fines for which you may be liable, reimburse OKay rent a car in Crete for any damage to the Vehicle, and refund  OKay for any costs it incurs

 Costs of fuel and for the refuelling service will be at your expense if the Vehicle is not returned with same quantity of tank as Okay was provided to you.

You are liable for all fees, taxes, fines and penalties incurred in connection with the use of the Vehicle and for which OKay is charged, unless they have arisen through the fault of OKay rent a car in crete.

During the rental period you must carry out the usual checks (engine oil level, tire pressure, etc.) as would any careful user and you must respect the maintenance cycle of the Vehicle as stated in the maintenance guide, if any.

When parking the Vehicle, even for a short period, you undertake to lock it and make use of the Vehicle's alarm and/or immobilisation equipment. You must never leave the Vehicle unoccupied with the keys in the ignition. Non-return of the keys will lead to invalidation of the theft cover.

You undertake to use the Vehicle in a responsible manner and in particular, only for the purposes for which it is intended. For a car, this means primarily carrying passengers other than for hire and reward.

In particular, you must not use the Vehicle under any of the following conditions or for any of the following purposes:

- driving the Vehicle under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any other type of narcotic substances,
- transportation of inflammable or dangerous goods, as well as toxic, corrosive, radioactive or other harmful substances,- carrying anything which, because of its smell or condition, harms the Vehicle or causes OKay rent a car in Crete  to lose time or money before it can rent the Vehicle again, - transportation of live animals (with the exception of domestic pets, subject to prior authorisation by  OKay), - with a roof rack, luggage carrier or similar, unless supplied by OKay, - re-rental to or use by other persons, - carrying passengers for hire or reward, - participating in rallies, competitions or trials, wherever they may take place, - giving driving lessons, - pushing or towing another vehicle (except those vehicles equipped by OKay with a towing-hook; maximum load 1,000 kg), or exceeding the authorised load weight. - travelling on non-paved roads or on roads, the surface or state of repair of which could put the vehicle's wheels, tires or its under body mechanics at risk, - intentionally committing any offence. - none of the goods and baggage carried in the Vehicle, including their packing and stowage equipment, will be permitted to damage the Vehicle, nor put the occupants abnormally at risk, - in any way which breaks the highway Code, road traffic laws or any other laws.

You will be liable for any offence committed during the rental period which relates in any way to your use of the Vehicle, as if you were the owner of the Vehicle. Upon the request of the Police or any official body OKay may have to transfer your personal data. Such transfer will be done in accordance with the data protection Laws of the country of rental.

Breakdown Assistance

For the length of the rental, as agreed with OKay rent a car in Crete, you have the benefit, at no extra cost, of a Breakdown and Assistance Service. If required, this service can be contacted by calling the telephone number indicated on the wallet of the rental agreement or on the windscreen or on the key holder.

In order to benefit from this cover, you must make contact with the Breakdown and Assistance Service immediately after the occurrence of the incident. If you do not contact the Breakdown and Assistance Service and if you initiate steps or make any disbursements without the prior consent of OKay, you will not be able to claim for reimbursement of the expenses. 

Airport –Port Service :Free of charge

Collection / Delivery:Free of charge to all Okay stations in town ,port or airport of the same town

Working hours: (07.00 till 23.00)

    Deliver Night / After hours. : It  might be an extra charge please contact our office in advance.

Free Kilometers:No extra charge for driven  kilometers.

 24 hours Road Service all over Crete :Included in the  rental price.

    We are cooperating with International Road Assistance ,which provides 24/7 road side help all over the island.

Road Map of Crete:We provide a fully detailed Road Map of Crete free of charge! 

Additional Driver (A.D.):There is not extra charge for second  additional driver.

 

Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W.)

All rental vehicles are fully insured. The rental rates include collision damage waiver insurance with a fixed excess amount depending on the car group chosen valid for vehicle’s body parts, windows and mirrors. Insurance for public liability and third party insurance with up to  750.000 eurofor persons and  for damaged properties. In the unfortunate event of accidental injury, personal life insurance is also included and valid for driver and all passengers with coverage up to 15.000 euro for the each passenger.

Full Damage Waiver (F.D.W.)

We also provide full damage waiver insurance against all risks without self-participation from which the renter is completely relieved from the responsibility of any damage. This insurance has no exclusions and valid for damages to glass, roof, vehicle body parts. This type of insurance may not be available in every rental but provided on request with a low additional cost depending on the car group chosen, you may contact us in advance.

Note: None of the above insurances cover damages caused by violation of the Greek traffic law, as well as damages to tires, mirrors, car parts underneath the vehicle and in the cabin.

Theft Protection  and fire protection

Fire and theft protection waiver is provided which covers the rental vehicle for total or partial loss. Theft insurance does not cover any stolen belongings of the customer.

Note: Theft Protection (T.P.) is not valid in case of driver's negligence

Administration Fee for fines

The renter is liable for the payment of all traffic fines that may occur during the car rental. In case the renter does not pay the fine(s) and OKay intervenes to the procedure, there will be an Administration Fee for the fine of 20,00€ additional to the fine's cost.

Loss or damage of key

Thereis no insurance cover the loss or damage of car key during the rental, the renter is liable.

Ferrying the car

It is forbidden without an advanced written authorization from Okay Greece.

Offers  are subject to vehicle availability at time of rental.
♦Rates and cars availability might change in case of a modification to an existing reservation.

Payment

Okay rent a car  accepts the following credit cards: Visa, American Express, Diners Club,and Mastercard. In case renter chooses the payment method of credit card for reservations through internet and only, Okay rent a car in Crete accepts all credits, debits and prepaid cards of Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Electron, American Express. In case renter chooses the payment method of cash and for car groups larger than   A,B and C category Okay  has the right to request throught the Reservation Department the rental prepayment either with a credit card or bank transfer, before car delivery.
